In 2025, Dicehammer is transitioning from the traditional pod-based league to a "Ladder" style format, offering players more flexibility to face a variety of opponents using any army they prefer.

Upon signing up, you are not required to commit to a specific Codex or army list. You can change your army from game to game, based on what you'd like to play.

What is a “Ladder” League?

Here’s how it works in 40k: All players who sign up before January 1 will be ranked on the ladder based on their past performances in leagues and RTTs. Players who join after January 1, once the league has started, will be placed at the bottom of the ladder.

The objective of a ladder league is simple: move up the ladder! When two players decide to play, if the lower-ranked player loses, the rankings remain unchanged. If the lower-ranked player wins, they swap places with the higher-ranked player, who moves down one spot.

For example, if Nick is ranked #15 and plays against Chris, who is ranked #4, and Nick loses, the rankings stay the same—Nick remains at #15, and Chris at #4. However, if Nick wins, he moves up to #4, and Chris drops to #5.

At the end of the season, the top 16 players will compete in a single-elimination playoff. You need to play in at least 4 games (one per month) in order to qualify for the playoffs.
