Terrain rules for Odyssey Games Team GT

Hi all - here are some terrain rules for the upcoming Odyssey Games Team GT. Dicehammer will be providing 2 standardized tables per set of 5. Here are the rules for them:

Table 1: Each player gets 2 RUINS, 1 FOREST, 1 HILL*, 1 CRATE

Table 2: Each player gets 3 RUINS, 1 FOREST, 1 OBSTACLE*

Guide:

  • 1 Defensible

  • 2 Breachable

  • 3 Difficult Ground

  • 4 Dense Cover

  • 5 Unstable Position

  • 6 Exposed Position

  • 7 Obscuring

  • 8 Light Cover

  • 9 Heavy Cover

  • 10 Scalable

  • 11 Inspiring

*Please note that these terrain features are not scalable or breachable, which means models (unless they have fly) need to move around them in the movement phase. Models with fly need to move around them in the charge phase.

Battle Ready Minimum for Dicehammer Events

Updated August 9, 2021

One of the most common questions I get is what counts as “Battle Ready” to get the 10 points at Dicehammer events. The old ITC standard was just 3 colors and a base with paint on it. The “Battle Ready” standard in the rulebook includes quite a few colors with basic painting techniques.

For Dicehammer events, we are looking for 3 distinct colors placed in meaningful places on the model (i.e. on some details of the model). For example, you couldn’t just prime a model black and put 2 additional dots on the model to count as 3 colors.

For bases, we are looking for a painted scenic base, a base with some sort of textured material on it, or a painted plain base (the base can be painted black). The exceptions to this are clear flying bases.

These standards are set for with the intent to be clear about what is required to be “Battle Ready”, however if an army does not meet the standard listed above, but still looks good / cohesive, the TO is able to approve the army to count as “battle ready”.

Below is an example of what would qualify as the minimum for a “Battle Ready” standard:
